Quick Verdict :
Freshsales charges $9, $39 or $59 per user a month on annual billing, rising to $11, $47 and $71 if you pay monthly. On the other side, Sales Hub offers a free tier for up to two users, then displays $7 a seat for Starter, $90 for Professional and a starting figure of $150 for Enterprise. Those headline numbers hide the comparison that actually matters: HubSpot requires a one-time onboarding fee of $1,500 on Professional and $3,500 on Enterprise, and Freshsales charges nothing to start.
Disclosure: Stack99 earns a commission if you buy through links on this page. It costs you nothing extra and never changes our assessment.
Both pricing pages were read on 16 October 2026 with our own declared bot. Figures below come from what those pages rendered, not from a vendor comparison chart.
If you want the Freshsales plan detail open while you read, start with Freshsales here.
What Each Product Is :
Freshsales is the sales CRM inside the Freshworks family. Pipeline management, built-in email, phone and chat, Freddy AI for scoring and insights, and a governance layer that arrives on the top tier. Freshworks claims more than 74,000 businesses worldwide, which we report as a vendor figure.

Sales Hub is one module of HubSpot’s larger customer platform. Buying it pulls you toward HubSpot’s wider ecosystem, which the pricing page makes explicit with a banner offering discounted Revenue Hub seats to new Sales Hub customers. That is the strategic difference between the two products, and it shows up in the bill rather than in the feature list.
A newer wrinkle on the HubSpot side is credits. Starter carries 500 HubSpot Credits, Professional 3,000 and Enterprise 5,000, and the page describes them as powering AI agents and features that take action across the platform, consumed as work gets done. Freshsales meters its AI differently, selling a Freddy AI Agent add-on at $49 per 100 sessions.
Price Side By Side :
Freshsales –
- Growth, $9 per user a month billed annually, $11 billed monthly. Aimed at startups and SMBs.
- Pro, $39 annually, $47 monthly. Aimed at growing and mid-sized businesses.
- Enterprise, $59 annually, $71 monthly. Adds forecasting insights, field-level permissions, custom modules, a sandbox and audit logs.
- No free plan is displayed. The entry route is a 21-day trial of the fully loaded product.
HubSpot Sales Hub –
- Free, $0 a month, limited to two users with no credit card required.
- Starter, displayed at $7 a seat a month against a struck-through $20, carrying 500 credits.
- Professional, displayed at $90 a seat a month against a struck-through $100, carrying 3,000 credits.
- Enterprise, from $150 a seat a month, carrying 5,000 credits.
One honesty note on that second list. HubSpot’s cards carry Pay Monthly and Pay Annually controls, and clicking them did not change the displayed figures for our bot. We therefore report the state the page served rather than guessing which control each number belongs to. Treat $7 and $90 as the figures HubSpot leads with and confirm the billing basis before you sign.
Where The Money Goes :
Compare the tiers people actually buy rather than the entry prices nobody stays on.
Five seats on Freshsales Pro costs $2,340 a year at the annual rate. The same five seats on HubSpot Sales Hub Professional at the displayed $90 cost $5,400 a year, plus the required $1,500 onboarding fee, so $6,900 in year one and $5,400 in each year after. Year one runs 2.95 times the Freshsales figure and later years 2.31 times.

Run the same arithmetic at the top. Freshsales Enterprise for five seats is $3,540 a year, while HubSpot Enterprise at its starting $150 is $9,000, plus $3,500 of required onboarding, giving $12,500 in year one. The gap there is 3.5 times, and the HubSpot figure is a floor because the page says the price starts at $150.
At the very bottom the ranking flips. A two-person team pays nothing on HubSpot Free and has no free option at all on Freshsales, which offers a 21-day trial and then expects a card.
Freshsales In Both Billing States :
Freshsales loads its pricing page in the annual state, so the first figures a visitor sees are discounted. Both states were captured.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | $9/user/mo | Billed annually; $11 billed monthly. Pipelines, multichannel engagement and basic workflows for startups and SMBs. |
| Pro | $39/user/mo | Billed annually; $47 billed monthly. AI assistance, multiple pipelines, advanced workflows and deeper automation. |
| Enterprise | $59/user/mo | Billed annually; $71 billed monthly. Forecasting insights, field-level permissions, custom modules, sandbox and audit logs. |
| Trial | Free | 21 days of the fully loaded CRM. Freshworks emails you at expiry; the account is suspended if you do not select a plan. |
A correction to an earlier version of this page: no free Freshsales plan for three users appears on the vendor pricing page as published on 16 October 2026. The free route is the trial, and we have removed the claim.
The annual saving is real but modest. Growth moves from $11 to $9, a cut of 18.2%. Pro moves from $47 to $39, or 17.0%. Enterprise moves from $71 to $59, or 16.9%. Nobody is getting a third off for committing a year.
Plan detail changes more often than feature lists do, so check the current Freshsales tiers before you build a budget on these numbers.
Who Should Use Freshsales :
Freshsales suits a sales team of five to fifty that wants pipeline, phone, email and AI assistance in one place without an implementation project attached.
The strongest case is the middle tier. At $39 a user a month you get AI assistance, multiple pipelines and advanced workflows, and the nearest comparable HubSpot tier costs more than twice that before onboarding. For a twenty-seat team the annual difference between Freshsales Pro and HubSpot Professional at displayed rates is $12,240 in year one.

The weakest case is a two-person startup. HubSpot gives that team a working CRM for nothing, and Freshsales gives them 21 days.
Onboarding Fees :
This is the line most comparison articles miss, and HubSpot states it plainly in a footnote under each card.
Professional carries a required one-time Professional Onboarding fee of $1,500. Enterprise carries a required one-time Enterprise Onboarding fee of $3,500. The word the page uses is required, not recommended.
Freshsales publishes no equivalent charge anywhere on its pricing page. Whether you need help is a separate question, and paid implementation support may still be worth buying, but the difference in year one is $1,500 or $3,500 of committed spend before a single seat is used.
Two smaller operational details sit nearby. The Freshsales trial runs 21 days on the fully loaded product, and Freshworks says it emails you when the trial expires, after which the account is suspended rather than downgraded. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express, with cheque payments accepted in US dollars for United States and Canada customers only. Teams that pay by bank transfer should raise that in the sales conversation.
Add-ons That Move The Total :
Both vendors meter something beyond the seat, and the shapes differ enough to matter.
- Freshsales branded documents, $19 per user a month. On a ten-seat team that is $2,280 a year, which exceeds the cost of Growth seats for the same team.
- Freshsales Freddy AI Agent, $49 per 100 sessions, which works out at $0.49 a session.
- HubSpot credits, included at 500, 3,000 and 5,000 by tier, consumed as AI features take action, with spend controls and action-level limits you set yourself.
The design philosophies pull in opposite directions. Freshsales sells AI as a block of sessions you buy when you want them. HubSpot bundles an allowance and then asks you to police consumption. Anyone who dislikes variable bills will prefer the first, and those who want AI switched on everywhere without a purchase order each time will prefer the second.
Whichever you pick, price the add-on alongside the seat rather than after it. A branded documents line at $19 a user more than doubles a Growth seat.
When Freshsales Wins :
Four situations point clearly at Freshsales.
- A team of five to fifty buying the mid tier, where the price difference runs to thousands a year.
- Any organisation that refuses to pay a mandatory onboarding fee on principle or on procurement rules.
- Buyers who want telephony inside the CRM rather than bolted on, since Freshsales includes phone alongside email and chat.
- Buyers who want AI priced per session rather than drawn from a shared allowance they have to monitor.
Freshsales governance arrives at $59 a user a month with field-level permissions, custom modules, a sandbox and audit logs. That is a reasonable place for those controls to sit, and it is below what HubSpot asks before onboarding is added.
When HubSpot Wins :
Three situations point the other way, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
- A team of one or two people, where HubSpot Free costs nothing and Freshsales offers only a trial.
- A company already running HubSpot marketing or service tools, where a shared contact record is worth more than the seat saving.
- Any buyer who wants the larger ecosystem and is willing to pay for it, which the Revenue Hub cross-sell banner on the pricing page is designed to encourage.

The HubSpot free tier deserves more credit than price-focused comparisons usually give it. Two seats with a working CRM and no card on file removes the main reason small teams stay in spreadsheets. Freshsales has no answer to that, and the 21-day trial is not one.
A Five-Seat Cost Model :
Numbers for a team of five, using annual Freshsales rates and HubSpot figures as displayed.
- Freshsales Growth: $540 a year.
- Freshsales Pro: $2,340 a year.
- Freshsales Enterprise: $3,540 a year.
- HubSpot Starter: $420 a year at the displayed $7 a seat.
- HubSpot Professional: $5,400 a year plus $1,500 onboarding, so $6,900 in year one.
- HubSpot Enterprise: from $9,000 a year plus $3,500 onboarding, so $12,500 in year one.
Read that list from the bottom up and the pattern is clear. HubSpot is cheapest at zero and at Starter. Freshsales is cheaper everywhere above that, and the gap widens as you climb.
Add your own add-ons before deciding. Branded documents across five seats is $1,140 a year, which closes a chunk of the gap between Growth and Starter and none of the gap at the top.
Expert Verdict And CTA :
Freshsales is the better value for any sales team past about three people that wants a complete CRM without an implementation invoice. The mid tier is its strongest product and its strongest price, and the governance features on Enterprise land below what the comparable HubSpot plan costs before onboarding.
HubSpot wins the smallest teams outright and wins any company that already lives inside its platform. For everyone in between, the $1,500 onboarding fee and the seat differential are the two numbers to put in front of whoever signs.
If the mid-tier maths looks right for your team, start with Freshsales here and run the 21-day trial against one real pipeline rather than a feature checklist.
Confirm two things on the call either way. Ask HubSpot which billing control each displayed figure belongs to, because the page did not make that clear to us. Ask Freshworks whether branded documents is per user across the whole account or only for users who generate documents, since at $19 a head that answer changes the total materially.
