What this means in practice
We participate in affiliate programs operated by software vendors and affiliate networks. When we link to a product — in a review, comparison, pricing guide, or anywhere else — that link may be tracked, and a purchase made through it may result in a commission to us. This is how we fund the research and writing on this site without charging readers or cluttering pages with display ads.
What it does not mean
Commissions do not buy verdicts. Our reviews list disadvantages as prominently as advantages, our comparisons name a winner based on the evaluation — not the commission rate — and we cover plenty of products with no affiliate program at all. No vendor sees our content before publication, and no vendor can pay to change a score, a ranking, or a recommendation.
